the word 'LIBERTY' to the left, and date to the right.
Above Lincoln's head is the phrase
'IN GOD WE TRUST'.
The reverse shows the Lincoln memorial in Washington,
D.C., with the legend: 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'
above, and 'ONE CENT' below. Above the memorial
building is the Latin phrase 'E PLURIBUS UNUM', which
translates to 'out of many, one', the motto of the USA.
