The 1820 United Kingdom shilling reverse shows

the UK coat of arms with the royal crown above,

surrounded by a garter with the Anglo-Norman

motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter,

The shield quadrants show three lions representing

England, one lion representing Scotland, and a harp

representing Ireland. In the center is a crowned shield

with the Hanoverian arms.
