to the UK era of British history,
and were circulated under all
monarchs, except Edward VIII.
The first circulation issue
United Kingdom era British
halfpenny was minted in
1806, and the last in 1967.
The United Kingdom halfpenny obverse features the monarch
of the time, encircled by a legend describing their titles.
Three reverse types were used during this period.
The first shows Britannia facing left, the second shows Britannia facing
right, and the third shows Sir Francis Drake's galleon, the Golden Hind.
1 halfpenny = 1/2 of a penny
= 1/24 of a shilling = 1/480 of a pound

was both prior and post.
