King Edward VII, in 1910.
The first King George V
United Kingdom sixpence
was minted in 1911, and
the last in 1936.
The King George V United Kingdom sixpence obverse
features the bare head of George V, facing left.
From 1911 to 1927, the reverse shows a lion standing
on the royal crown, with the date divided to either side.
In 1928 the reverse design was changed to three oak
springs with six leaves and six acorns.

By 1922 Ireland had divided. The UK became
'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland'. UK currency continued to be
used as the official legal tender of the newly
independent 'Irish Free State' until 1928.
The silver content was debased from 92.5%
to 50% in 1920.
