The 1824 United Kingdom sixpence reverse shows
the UK coat of arms with the royal crown above,
surrounded by a garter with the Anglo-Norman motto
of the British chivalric Order of the Garter, 'HONI SOIT
QUI MAL Y PENSE', then 'ANNO' and the date below.
The shield quadrants show three lions representing
England, one lion representing Scotland, and a harp
representing Ireland. In the center is a crowned shield
with the Hanoverian arms.
